Микропротезиране или класическо пломбиране
Written by Administrator

Written by Administrator

Written by Administrator

Written by Administrator
понеделник, 11 март 2013
The problem of bad breath has been around for thousands of years. It was written about in the Jewish Talmud, ancient Greek and Roman literature; and as early as 850 AD, Islamic literature offered some explanation for the origin of the teeth as well as "fetid breath."

This age-old problem has numerous causes, but in an estimated 85 percent of the cases, the odor originates from the mouth. In the remainder of the cases, the nose, tonsils, and other ailments contribute to bad breath. Treatment for bad breath must address the source of the problem.

Dental problems, including broken teeth that trap food, infected teeth that abscess, and untreated periodontal (gum) disease are the most likely causes of bad breath.

Bad breath is a sensitive subject, and can affect a person’s self esteem. There are many potential causes, but about 85 percent of the time, the mouth is the source. When the mouth is the cause of bad breath, food, oral habits and dental health should be examined first. Foods or beverages such as garlic, onions and coffee, and habits such as smoking and chewing tobacco can contribute to bad breath. Dental problems, including broken teeth that trap food, infected teeth that abscess, and untreated periodontal (gum) disease are the most likely causes of bad breath. Another potential source of bad breath is the type of bacteria in our mouths. A recent study reveals that certain bacteria may be associated with fresh and bad breath.

Causes and Treatment of Cracked Teeth

вторник, 12 март 2013
Q: Cracked teeth: How does it happen?
A: When we crack or chip our teeth, we often blame it on eating the wrong foods, such as sticky candy or popcorn. But in fact, the food may not be entirely responsible for the fracture. Sticky candy may accelerate the crack, but the tooth may have fractured because of its weakened condition. For example, a tooth with a large existing restoration in it -- such as a filling or root canal -- is weaker than a tooth that has not been restored.

There are a number of reasons why a tooth may crack, including tooth decay, trauma or injury, a weakened tooth structure, grinding of the teeth or a stress fracture. In some cases, the tooth simply can't withstand the strong muscles of the jaw and will fracture when an individual bites down on food. One way to protect the teeth from trauma is to wear a mouthguard during sports. Your dentist can fit you with a custom mouthguard. Taking proper care of the teeth and regular visits to the dentist will help keep your teeth in good shape.

Missing and Damaged Teeth: Patient Options
Written by Administrator
четвъртък, 07 март 2013
People who have avoided dental care for many years and have already lost most of their teeth will sometimes go to a dentist and ask for all of their remaining teeth to be extracted. Their teeth are often broken and have deep cavities, and the situation seems hopeless. In some cases, removal of all the remaining teeth and replacement with full dentures is the only option. More often, however, some or all of the remaining teeth can be repaired and used in conjunction with a partial denture. A full denture is a removable device that replaces all of the teeth on the upper or lower jaw, and a partial denture replaces some of the teeth.

Missing teeth -- a common dilemma for many people who have had teeth removed because of extensive cavities, gum disease, injuries, and those who may never have developed some of their teeth due to a heredity trait. Missing teeth can often be a source of embarrassment as it can also affect a person’s quality of life.

Some of the problems associated with lost teeth include difficulty eating or chewing (hard foods can get painfully jammed into the gum), speech problems, and also cause the adjacent teeth to shift. When these teeth shift, they can create further cosmetic problems and also become more susceptible to cavities, bite problems and gum disease. With all of these potential problems, it’s good to know the pros and cons of some of the most common solutions that your dentist can offer for replacing missing teeth.

Calcium Helps Prevent Gum Disease
Written by Administrator
събота, 23 март 2013
Most people know that calcium is an important mineral that helps keep our bones strong. Ninety-nine percent of the calcium in the body is stored in the bones and teeth; the remaining one percent circulates in the bloodstream and is necessary for muscles to contract, blood to clot and nerves to carry their messages. Calcium intake is well known for its ability to help prevent the damaging effects of osteoporosis, but may also help limit bone loss around the tooth roots caused by periodontal (gum) disease.
